Mom Enough? Seriously TIME?

I will stay largely out of this-as much as possible.

Have you read this article?  What do you think?

If you choose to comment, please comment on the article not on the topic it covers.  Be respectful and be nice, I think we all can agree that at the end of the day the only thing that matters is happy, healthy, loved babies.

  1. I have not read the article but I do NOT like that picture. It looks the opposite of what breastfeeding is: It looks forced and angry not natural at all.

  2. I think they could have positioned them in a more mothering way. It looks more sexual at first glance.

  3. I did read the article. It's not really even about breastfeeding or being a mother who practices attachment parenting, really. It's more about Dr. Sears and how he came to promote attachment parenting and how his views have evolved over the years. And it talks a little about what he's up to now and his family. The cover pic/title is really misleading to what the article is about.

  4. I agree with previous posters, and I hate that they tried to start this big momma drama right before mothers day. All for what, more money.

  5. I think it's just an attempt to fuel competition between moms. I'm really disappointed in how this was portrayed, as if some mothers are "more mom" than others because of how they chose to raise their children. Like you said, happy, healthy, loved babies are the goal. What SHOULD be promoted is mothers who help each other out. They should be talking about communities of moms (and dads) who can talk openly about experiences and problems, all to be better parents. Ugh.

  6. I think there are already plenty of people out there criticizing one another, especially about moms and "best practices" for parenting. I think this just helped fuel the fire. Really, aren't we all on the same side? If you love your kids and you do what you truly feel is best for them and for your family, then you are "Mom Enough" no matter what Dr. Sears or anyone else says. I think we should spend more time encouraging moms and less time comparing parenting philosophies.

  7. I agree with Veggie Mama. The article is just about Sears. The author and cover photographer had little discussion on what works together. The cover was just sensational to sell copies.
