  1. I think there's a lot of stuff on that list for older babies. Not necessary for bringing home a newborn.
There's also stuff I've never even heard of: What's an "Ultimate fitted sheet"?
Also - Baby Bjorn's are bad for infants. Cause hip dysplasia. Get a baby carrier that's not a "crotch dangler", like an Ergo, or a Boba.
Car seat protectors will void your car seat warranty, and possibly limit insurance payout in an accident. Don't add anything to your car seat.
Alcohol is also not recommended for umbilical cord anymore. This list reads like it's very dated info.
Also kind of like a recommended registry list that a store might provide, because there's still plenty of stuff on it you don't need.

    1. The Ultimate Fitted Sheet goes on top of your mattress or sheet. It snaps around the spindles so that if you need to change it during the night, it's easier than changing a sheet. I have one, but I never used it with my first. Also, if you use a breathable bumper pad (I know this is debatable also), it won't work with it because the bumper is meant to tuck down beside the mattress.

  2. Wow! A lot of this is not necessary and some not recommended for newborns like: bottles and pacifiers (if you plan to breastfeed), Ear Thermometer (Rectal thermometers are more accurate), Alcohol for umbilical cord, soap, shampoo, lotions, baby bjorn and Johnny Jumper to name a few.

    I like this short list:

    Stroller
    Carseat
    Some clothing
    Crib or cradle
    Blanket, new mattress and sheets
    A pack of diapers
    Burp cloths, washcloths and towels
    nursing bra and nursing pads

for a newborn you dont need much. i think the simpler the better. i bought alot of clothes for my newborn. most were cute outfits and i wish i had not. they are a pain to put on. all you need is the PJs the one made of fleece and have zipper. and long sleeve onesies. no need to get colorful ones if you are on a budget, white ones will do. like gerber (they do run small)... is not that big of a deal to get bigger clothes for newborn. i would say skip newborn size and go for 0to3 months size. there is no big difference. blankets are nice to have. and if the mom decides to breastfeed, you dont need bottles at all! trust me i did not use one at all. i mean if you plan to pump then yes you will need some.
